You may be able to prepare your Nusuk account before travelling, but do not assume you can always confirm a Rawdah appointment before your Saudi visitor details are recognized in Nusuk. The current official Rawdah service does not list a visa number as a universal required document, but foreign visitors still need a valid Nusuk profile linked to their identity.
Saudi Arabia’s official Rawdah service is available to visitors, residents and citizens through the Nusuk app. The published booking steps simply require users to log in, choose the Rawdah service, select a date and time and confirm the appointment.
Does Nusuk Officially Say a Visa Number Is Required?
The current public Rawdah service page does not list a Saudi visa number as a separate mandatory document for every booking.
However, this does not mean every overseas traveler can book before their visa exists.
Nusuk services rely on your registered visitor profile, and the official Nusuk Umrah registration process includes passport and visa-issuance information.
So if the app asks you for a visa number or does not recognize your visitor details, wait until your visa has been issued and linked rather than entering false information.
Can I Book Rawdah Before Arriving in Saudi Arabia?
Yes, advance booking is available through the normal Rawdah booking service once your Nusuk account is active and an appointment is available.
This is different from the Instant Track service.
Nusuk says Instant Track is designed for visitors who are already close to Masjid an-Nabawi, with new opportunities appearing approximately every 20 minutes depending on availability.
So:
Advance booking: can be planned before your visit when your account works.
Instant Track: intended for visitors already near the Prophet’s Mosque.
What If I Have My Visa but Nusuk Still Does Not Recognize Me?
First, check that your:
- passport number
- nationality
- date of birth
- visa details
match the documents exactly.
Do not create several accounts using slightly different details.
If Nusuk still does not recognize your profile, use official support instead of paying someone to “fix” the account.
Nusuk currently lists:
Inside Saudi Arabia: 1966
Outside Saudi Arabia: 920002814

Should I Buy a Rawdah Slot While Waiting for My Visa?
No.
The official Rawdah permit service is free.
Do not pay a stranger for:
- a QR code
- someone else’s appointment
- a “guaranteed” slot
- unofficial account activation
Wait until your own Nusuk profile is working.
If appointments are unavailable, read our guide on what to do if no Rawdah slots show on Nusuk.
Do I Need Nusuk Just to Enter Masjid an-Nabawi?
No.
Nusuk’s current guidance says entry to Masjid an-Nabawi itself does not require a prior permit.
A booking is required specifically for entry to the Rawdah under the organized visiting system.
You can also read our guide on whether you need a Nusuk permit for Umrah.
Planning Your Madinah Visit?
The safest approach is to obtain your visa, make sure your Nusuk visitor profile works and then book through the official Rawdah service as soon as suitable availability appears.
