What Documents Do I Need for Umrah?

Having your paperwork organized before arriving at the airport ensures a smooth journey from the UK to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi authorities enforce specific documentation rules for health, safety, and immigration control.

Essential Document Checklist for UK Pilgrims

1. Valid Original Passport

  • Must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date you arrive in Saudi Arabia.

  • Must contain at least two blank facing pages for entry and exit stamps.

2. Valid Visa or Entry Permit

  • A printed copy of your approved Saudi Tourist eVisa, UK ETA, or Umrah eVisa.

  • Always keep a physical printout alongside a digital PDF copy saved on your smartphone.

3. Meningitis ACWY Vaccination Certificate

  • Saudi health regulations require all pilgrims over the age of two to be vaccinated against Meningococcal Meningitis (groups A, C, W, and Y).

  • The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before traveling and recorded on an official International Certificate of Vaccination signed by a registered UK travel clinic. The certificate remains valid for up to 5 years.

4. Travel Insurance Policy

  • Mandatory health insurance covering emergency medical care and hospital treatments within Saudi Arabia is automatically included when you purchase a Saudi eVisa.

5. Flight & Hotel Confirmations

  • Printed return flight tickets and confirmed hotel vouchers for Makkah and Madinah. Immigration officers at Jeddah or Madinah airport may request proof of stay.

6. Nusuk App Permits

  • Digital or printed permits issued through the official Nusuk App for performing Umrah and visiting the Rawdah ash-Sharifah in Madinah.
